Community Sanctuary Project has busy June
Whenever there's gun violence in our city, the Community Sanctuary Project jumps into action.
Pastor Nathan Horton packs up his grill and goes right to the neighborhoods where the violence happened.
The faith-based arm of the Office of Violence Prevention helps communities heal with food, fellowship, and on-site counseling.
We held two events in June. Mayor Craig Greenberg joined us for our Juneteenth event by the Algonquin Pool. Later in the month, we served more than 350 people at the Parkhill Community Center after violence claimed the life of a young boy.
