Ease On Down to Whitney Hall

The Wiz

The Wiz Returns July 29 – August 3

Coming to an Emerald City near you... The seven-time Tony Award-winning smash hit The Wiz is back and it’s boogieing into Louisville with a brand-new tour for the first time in 40 years!

Catch this electrifying revival July 29 through August 3 at Whitney Hall.

This soul-stirring, funk-filled reimagining of The Wizard of Oz features an all-star creative team, including director Schele Williams, writer Amber Ruffin, and choreographer Jaquel Knight (of Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” fame).

The production breathes new life into the beloved story, fusing gospel, R&B, and dazzling dance in a joyful celebration of Black excellence, culture, and creativity.

What’s the story? It’s the classic tale you know, told like never before. When Dorothy is whisked away to Oz, she meets a colorful cast of characters—Scarecrow, Tinman, and Lion—on her journey to find heart, courage, knowledge, and the meaning of home. Set to hits like "Be a Lion" and the iconic "Ease on Down the Road," this feel-good musical is a must-see for all generations.

Solarize Louisville

solarize

Louisville Metro Government’s Mayor’s Office of Sustainability(OS) has partnered with the Kentucky Solar Energy Society(KYSES) to launch the 2025 Solarize Louisville program!

Solarize Louisville makes going solar easy by connecting participants with vetted and trustworthy solar installers, providing a step-by-step walk-through of the solar installation process, and helping participants access discounted rates on solar. Going solar will help you reduce your energy bills, potentially increase your property’s value, support local solar jobs, and help Louisville meet its goal of using 100% clean energy community-wide by 2040!

By connecting Solarize Louisville participants with vetted installers, Metro is eliminating the hassle for residents to shop for an installer themselves and providing a wholesale discount of 15-18%.

 Join this growing community today!

The program is open to residents, small businesses, nonprofits, places of worship, and other small non-residential properties in Louisville/Jefferson County and surrounding counties. To learn more about the program and sign up, please visit solarizelouisville.com

Register for one of our upcoming Solar 101 Workshops by clicking the links below. At these workshops, you can hear directly from the installers, learn more about the process, and ask questions!
