Councilwoman Raymond announces Camp Taylor Community Nights
Councilwoman Josie Raymond invites District 10 families and residents to a series of free, family-friendly events this summer at Camp Taylor Memorial Park, located at 4201 Lee Avenue. The first one is this Thursday, May 29, with inflatables, free popcorn and cotton candy, and a soccer clinic with the LouCity & Racing Foundation.
Due to the delayed reopening of the Camp Taylor pool, Councilwoman Raymond is reallocating operational and security funding to support alternative programming designed to bring the community together in fun and engaging ways.
The Camp Taylor Community Nights will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on select Thursday evenings: May 29, June 12, June 26, July 10, and July 24. Each evening will feature a variety of free activities, developed with input from residents through a community survey.
Each event will highlight different themes and partners, with activities ranging from inflatables to a videogame truck to a petting zoo, and community institutions including Louisville Sports Commission and Louisville Zoo. A special thanks to Louisville Parks and Recreation for making these events possible.
“I encourage all District 10 residents to join us in the park this summer. Let’s make the most of these evenings and build stronger community bonds,” said Raymond.
