Councilman Bratcher participated in the South Central Community Forum at the South Central Regional Library on Tuesday evening, April 8th. The event offered the opportunity to hear from and talk with the Councilmembers of Districts 13, 22, 23 and 24 and also ask questions of representatives of various government agencies regarding local government services that are available to meet community needs.

We will meet at 9am at the Fern Creek Community Center (6104 Bardstown Road) to distribute the clean-up supplies and point you to where to do the morning's work.
I have been actively working with KYTC about the condition of our roads and the severe congestion we deal with on a daily basis. I’m happy to announce that starting in the next few weeks(weather permitting), state contractors will begin paving a major section of Bardstown Road, from Colonel Hancock to the Bullitt County line, north and southbound lanes. This is only a first step and there is a great deal more work to be done.
The sections north of Colonel Hancock are partial asphalt and concrete which complicates things. I am well aware that the asphalt section to the north needs to be paved, and I’m told that will be done later this fall in conjunction with another project. The concrete section will have to be completely torn out and re-poured, which is not part of this phase. I drive this stretch of road every day like many of you and I will stay on top of the issue with KYTC. There are several other projects planned for this corridor, which I will keep you updated on as we move forward.
Finally, I was just informed that the Bardstown Road Corridor Study being conducted by the state that we’ve been waiting on, now won’t be completed until August. Once completed, I will work to secure the funds we need to make that major project a reality.
This is good news for our area! These problems didn’t arise overnight and will take time to fix, but I promise our infrastructure needs are a top priority for me.

8915 Old Bardstown Road (Case 24-ZONE-0113) and 11401 Race Road (Case 24-ZONE-0115) are concepts for two locations proposed by the same applicant. Both proposals were passed by the Planning Commission on April 10th. This completes the public record for these cases. They will now move forward for Metro Council review and action in the following 30-90 days.

6422 & 6808 Billtown Road (Case 24-ZONE-0137) was approved on Thursday, March 13th, by the Land Development & Transportation Committee to move forward to the Planning Commission on Thursday, April 24th, starting at 1:00 p.m. - until all cases are heard. This is a proposal for a change in zoning from R-4 to C-1 and R-6. One portion will have a Wawa's. Another section is not yet fully defined. The R-6 area will be apartments. Road connection is also part of the proposal. 9300 & 9308 Old Bardstown Road, 10313 & 10311 R Thixton Lane, Parcel ID 066600250000 (Case 24-ZONE-0088) was held on March 27th to go before the full Metro Council on Thursday, April 24th.
8000 Broad Run Road (Case 24-ZONE-0112) is a proposed change in zoning from R-R & R-4 to Planned Residential Development (PRD) with a Floyds Fork Special Zoning Overlay District Review with associated waiver(s) and Detailed District Development Plan/Major Preliminary Subdivision Plan with binding elements. The Project Name is The Reserves at Parklands, Phase II. On March 27th, this proposal was forwarded from the Land Development & Transportation Committee (LD&T) to the Planning Commission. The PC meeting will be in the Old Jail Building at 514 W Liberty Street, 40202, and will start at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15th - until all cases are heard. 11380 Seatonville Road (Case 24-ZONE-0127) now has a formal application submitted. There are some issues to be addressed before it is scheduled for a public hearing. Once planning staff consider those issues to be sufficiently addressed, the proposal will next be scheduled for a review by the Land Development & Transportation Committee (which only focuses on technical details of the plan to make sure those are ready for the Planning Commission to do its overall review). A petition for a night hearing has been successful, so when the Planning Commission hearing is scheduled, it will be in the evening at the Fern Creek Christian Church at 9419 Seatonville Road.
