PGA Championship, Coffee with the CFO, and Legislative Updates
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As if Derby wasn’t just a couple weeks ago, Louisville, KY is once again in the national spotlight as our own Valhalla Golf Club hosts the PGA Championship. At a more granular level, it is our beloved District 19 which is getting a lot of attention and rightfully so. I think we can all agree that this is the best place in Louisville, and therefore the rest of the world, to live.
When I was driving my daughters to school yesterday, I, like you, noticed the greatest LMPD presence we have probably ever seen in District 19. Obviously they are here to ensure everyone’s safety and to deal with the inevitable traffic issues. I would like to make a few comments about this next week:
- Please be patient: Valhalla will move between 150 and 200,000 people a day in and out of their facility. If you are attending the event, please be patient and leave plenty of time to get to and from there.
- Please avoid the area if you can: No matter how well planned this traffic plan is, traffic will get busier throughout the week. If you can make alternative plans to travel clear of the area, that would reduce your headaches and reduce traffic in the area as well. I know this is an inconvenience but it is temporary and this event is a huge benefit to our city and community.
