February 13th, 2024 marked the District 3 team's 90th day in office. We have been overwhelmed by the love and support from our district. There is certainly a great deal to learn, and it has been a whirlwind, but the opportunity to work with so many people and problem solve has been a privilege. We have been navigating anything from code enforcement to landlord-tenant relationships, to budgeting and event planning. While managing calendars and returning calls and emails can keep us busy, we want everyone to know that it is not impossible and everyone can be involved in local government.
We are so happy that we were able to host our first District 3 Advisory Board meeting, or, as we call it, the 3DAB. People representing several neighborhoods were in attendance, and we were able to get to know each other a little better and talk about some neighborhood priorities. We all deserve clean, safe, beautiful neighborhoods with access to amenities. Our goal is to figure out how we can use the Metro Council office to ensure every neighborhood has just that. We want to express our deepest thanks to Leslie, Ron, Mark, Syvoskia, and Christine for coming out and spending their Monday evening with us. We invite you all to continue applying and showing up. We are looking to host the next meeting in District 3.

We covered a wide array of topics related to housing—from renting to ownership, and the opportunities available to our community. We had a great time at the medical society reception, chatting with medical professionals and future physicians in our community. Health and wellness, and public health, includes so much more than just our individual bodies. |
We were so excited to attend an open house, presented by the Office of Planning and Design, to talk about mixed-use development and how to best utilize the physical infrastructure we have to encourage sustainability and community. |

The West End Opportunity Partnership is hosting a series of public meetings and we have been fortunate enough to attend the first two, and look forward to attending more. We want to ensure voices in the community are heard when it comes to how neighborhoods are invested in. |
 On February 10th, we were honored to join the Spiritual Sisters and donate blankets to the residents of Signature Healthcare East. The Spiritual Sisters are a network of women who support each other and their community in their monthly service outing. We are so grateful they invited us to take part this month and we enjoyed our time speaking with some staff at Signature Healthcare and giving blankets to the residents. We are so happy that people like the Spiritual Sisters are taking initiatives to serve their community and they are an example to us. If you are part of a community service group, please reach out and let us know if you would like us to support your efforts.
