Attend Café LOUIE - an informal gathering of civic-minded individuals interested in meeting with their elected officials to discuss local issues at libraries all across town. Participants will be offered refreshments and conversation. The focus of these meetings is engagement through personal conversations, and they are open to the public.
Councilman Blackwell is scheduled to attend the February 17 event at the Southwest Regional Library and March 16 at the Shively Library.
Councilman Blackwell has been providing many updates to Riverview Park. New picnic benches, grills and trash cans have been installed throughout the park. New light fixtures will be installed in the next few weeks, and refabricated shade canopies will be installed by early spring. Construction on the four new pickleball courts will start this spring. Great things are happening at Riverview!
The 2024 LIHEAP Winter Crisis Phase takes place through March 29.
Clients or their designated representative should allow for 30-60 minutes processing time and must stay to sign the completed application.
Applicants must be Jefferson County residents with a household income at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.
Residents wishing to apply must schedule an appointment utilizing this online system or by calling our automated phone appointment system at 502-991-8391.
Eligible households can apply for one or both programs with one single appointment. The EWRAP program adds a discount to future Wastewater charges and the consent decree surcharge of the water bills. Again, this is only a discount towards future Water bills and there will be no money applied to the bill on the day of the application approval.
For the MSC EWRAP Discount Program, proof of an active utility account with the Louisville Water Company and MSD is required. This enrollment period is for new and renewing MSD discount program clients. However, if you have already enrolled in the Subsidy phase between October and December 2023, you will not need to apply again. They repeat, if you have already enrolled between October and December 2023, you will not need to apply again until next October 2024.
Call for Artists: Applications now open for the sixth annual Art in City Hall Exhibition
Artists must submit applications online by January 15
Louisville Metro Council and Louisville Visual Art (LVA) are now accepting applications for artwork to display in City Hall as part of the sixth annual Art in City Hall exhibition.
The annual program, which will be administered by LVA, invites artists to submit original, two-dimensional works of art through an online application process by Monday, January 15, 2024. The submissions will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of Metro Council and LVA representatives.
Up to five artists will be selected for the exhibition. The chosen artwork will be on display February 2024 through January 2025 in City Hall’s entrance lobby, hallways, and public spaces.
Each artist selected to participate in the exhibition will receive a $500 honorarium.
Specifications
All artwork must be original and two-dimensional.
Outside dimensions of artwork (including frames) must not be smaller than 24 x 24 in. and must not exceed 60 x 60 in.
All artwork must be framed, stretched or mounted to durable material, and ready for hanging with D-ring hangers, wire, or equivalent.
Artists are responsible for transportation and delivery of selected artworks to City Hall by designated date and for pick up by a designated date at the conclusion of the exhibition.
Artworks submitted for consideration must be available throughout the duration of the exhibition, February 2024 through January 2025.
