Louisville's popular open streets event will take place on the Three Points Loop (Goss Avenue, Logan Street, and Shelby Street, between Texas Avenue and Kentucky Street) on Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 2:00-6:00pm.

Energy Program Progress

Since 2021, new energy management strategies have been implemented to track and reduce energy use within Louisville Metro Government (LMG), including setback scheduling, utility billing analysis, and building optimization efforts. Due to the combined efforts across several departments, LMG has now exceeded $2,000,000 of utility cost avoidance since the start of the energy program! These savings are being leveraged through the Energy Innovation Fund to finance energy capital projects that accelerate progress towards LMG’s energy goals. In total, 11 energy projects have been funded in LMG buildings, which include 8 full-building LED lighting conversions, 2 ventilation and economization projects, and 1 building that is being added to our building automation and controls system. The savings from these projects are anticipated to produce a quick return on investment and will ultimately help finance additional energy improvements.

Kentucky's New Employee Child Care Assistance Partner Program - House Bill 499

Kentucky has launched an innovative new program to assist working families with the cost of child care and help employers attract and retain talent. The Employee Child Care Assistance Partnership (ECCAP) helps employers meaningfully contribute financial assistance directly to employee child care costs by matching their contribution up to 100%, potentially doubling the value of their employer-provided benefit. For example, if an employer commits $100 per month to their employees' child care expenses, the state may match that contribution up to another $100, giving employees a total of up to $200 in child care assistance. All funds from the employer and the state are paid directly to eligible child care providers, who are included in this database. Various program restrictions apply. To learn more, view the Kentucky Chamber's ECCAP resource page here, visit Kentucky's ECCAP program page here, or send inquires to PartnershipChildCare@ky.gov
