 Celebration of Life May 15th, 7 p.m.
Denny Crum, who won two NCAA Championships while serving as the University of Louisville’s men’s basketball coach for 30 years (1971-2001), passed away at his home Tuesday morning. He was 86.
UofL will host a Celebration of Life on Monday, May 15 in honor of Coach Crum.
The Celebration of Life will take place at 7 p.m. Monday at the KFC Yum! Center and will be free and open to the public. Those who wish to attend will be able to claim a free ticket.
Additional details of the event – including how to claim tickets, how to watch the live stream, and planned guest speakers – will be released by UofL once finalized. AroundLou will also share the details on Facebook and Instagram when released.

The Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky (BIAK) will host the Run, Walk, and Roll for Brain Health this Saturday at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park! The event will include options of a 5k run or a 1-mile run/walk/roll.
More than 1,000 participants are expected to run, walk, and roll individually or in teams to raise brain injury awareness. The BIAK is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals impacted by brain injury.
There will be contests for both "Best Team T-shirts" and "Best Team Spirit". Come out and enjoy food trucks, a DJ, bounce houses, games and more!
7:30 a.m. - Registration opens. 8:30 a.m. - 5K begins. 9 a.m. - Walk & activities begins.

As an added bonus, this year’s Gardeners’ Fair will feature workshops for both children and adults! Other notable highlights of this event are Museum Theater Performances scheduled throughout the day, walk-through tours of the historic house with performances by our First-Person Interpreters, and as always, our top-notch food vendors - Sweet N’ Savory Food Truck and Crowler Catering.
The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
