I-64 West (Exit Ramp 15) to North Hurstbourne Lane (KY 1747): Daily lane closure and delays are possible at the I-64 West (Exit Ramp 15) to North Hurstbourne Lane (KY 1747) for concrete work and intersection improvements. The right lane of the ramp has been completed allowing right turns onto North Hurstbourne Lane (KY 1747). Lane closures may occur nightly from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Hurstbourne Lane North and South at the I-64 intersection for striping improvements. The project is expected to be completed in late summer 2023.

I-71 North at bridges over U.S. 42 (mile point 6.25): Lane closures and delays possible for bridge deck work, which involves removal of the concrete wearing-surface and replacement with a latex overlay. This treatment will extend the life of the structure and will improve the roadway's drivability. This project is the final phase of a $7.6 million asphalt resurfacing project that was completed in the fall of 2022. Signs in the area will notify drivers of the work, but motorists should adjust for increased travel times, expect delays while traveling through the work zone, or seek an alternate route. A 12-foot-wide lane will be maintained for traffic throughout the duration of the lane closure.

The lane closures are scheduled for the following weekends:

• Northbound left lane: Friday, April 14, at 9 p.m. and continue through Monday, April 17, at 5 a.m.
• Northbound right lane: Friday, April 21, at 9 p.m. and continue through Monday, April 24, at 5 a.m.
• Southbound left lane: Friday, April 28, at 9 p.m. and continue through Monday, May 1, at 5 a.m.
• Southbound right lane: Friday, May 12, at 9 p.m. and continue through Monday, May 15, at 5 a.m.

 

I-264 West (Exit Ramp 15A) to North Newburg Road (KY 1703): Sound barrier wall is being constructed at the I-264 West (Exit Ramp 15A) to North Newburg Road (KY 1703). Motorists should expect ramp shoulder closures, possible lane closure on North Newburg Road, and delays throughout the work zone. The construction is expected to be completed in spring 2023.

I-264 East and West Ramp Closures to I-65 South: Full ramp closures from 9 p.m., Friday, April 14, to 5 p.m., Sunday, April 16. Contract crews will perform concrete slab replacement and subgrade repairs. This closure will allow for newly placed concrete to have ample time to cure. During the closure, there will be no entry to southbound I-65 from I-264 East or West. Motorists should follow the signed detour or seek an alternate route. Motorists should adjust for increased travel times, expect delays while traveling the detour, or seek an alternate route. Signed detours:

• I-264 West: continue on I-264 West to I-64 East (near Sherman Minton Bridge), then reconnect with I-65 South downtown
• I-264 East: continue on I-264 East to I-64 West (near St. Matthews), then reconnect with I-65 South downtown

 

I-264 East (Exit 9) to Taylor Boulevard (KY 1865): Daily lane closure and delays are possible at the I-264 East (Exit Ramp) to Taylor Boulevard (KY 1856) for concrete work and ramp improvements. Lane closures may occur nightly from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Taylor Boulevard North and South at the I-264 intersection for striping improvements. The project is expected to be completed in late summer 2023.

U.S. 31E (Baxter Avenue): Lane closures and delays are possible from just after East Liberty Street extending north to East Market Street for asphalt resurfacing and related work. Drivers will be directed through these work zones via flagging operations. Motorists take note: On-street parking will be restricted. The work is scheduled to be completed by May 2023.

U.S. 31E (Bardstown Road/Baxter Avenue): Lane closures and delays are possible from Bonnycastle Avenue to Broadway for asphalt resurfacing and related work. Drivers will be directed through these work zones via flagging operations. Motorists take note: On-street parking will be restricted. This work is part of an overall Highway Safety Improvement Program within the Bardstown Road corridor.

U.S. 31E (Bardstown Road): Lane shifts and delays are possible at Southpointe Boulevard for intersection improvements. The intersection is being reconstructed to include dual turn lanes. The work is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2023.

U.S. 31E/U.S. 150 (Buechel Bypass): Various closures have been in place for the bridge since a February 2021 inspection found deterioration on one of the bridge's pier caps. The repairs were initially delayed as KYTC and the contractor sought approval from the railroad to work on the bridge section over the tracks. Last year, crews began working under the bridge in an area not visible to motorists crossing the span. Those repairs have now advanced to a point where the weekend closure of the entire bridge is necessary. The repairs are expected to be completed in spring 2023.

U.S. 42 (Brownsboro Road): Daily lane closures are possible from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the set of I-71 overpass bridges (mile point 7). That's between Seminary Drive and Mt. Rainier Drive. The contractor will first complete the work requiring a westbound lane closure before switching to the eastbound lane. The bearing pads are being replaced on the south side of both bridges. Electronic message boards will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is expected to be completed in spring 2023.

U.S. 42 (Brownsboro Road): Minor lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through March 2023 from North Spring Street (mile point 0.587) to Chenoweth Lane (mile point 3.89) for sidewalk work. This work is being done in advance of an asphalt resurfacing project expected to be completed in fall 2023.

KY 155 (Taylorsville Road) at South Pope Lick Road: Daily intermittent lane closures are possible on KY 155 (Taylorsville Road) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as crews perform work on South Pope Lick Road. South Pope Lick Road: Road closed to thru traffic between KY 155 (Taylorsville Road) and Rehl Road. Local access only. Motorists should follow posted detours. The closure to thru traffic is for the reconstruction of the KY 155 and South Pope Lick Road intersection and bridge over Pope Lick Creek. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2023.

KY 1065 (Outer Loop): Single-lane closures and delays are possible between Preston Highway (KY 61) to Shepherdsville Road (KY 2052). Motorists should expect a lane closure nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. as crews perform partial depth patching and concrete repairs.

KY 1450 (Blue Lick Road): Weekday lane closures are possible between I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) and KY 61 (Preston Highway) for road widening work. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023.

KY 1531 (Eastwood-Fisherville Road): Lane closures and delays are possible from just south of the bridge over Long Run Creek (mile point 8.091) extending northwardly to U.S. 60 (mile point 9.021) to complete subgrade repairs in advance of an upcoming resurfacing project. Drivers will be directed through these work zones via flagging operations. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023.

KY 1931 (St. Andrews Church Road): Daily shoulder or lane closures are possible from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for sidewalk ramp improvements and asphalt subgrade repairs from US31W/Dixie Highway to Windemere Drive (mile point 5.160). This work is being done in advance of an asphalt resurfacing project expected to be completed in the summer of 2023.

KY 3064 (Portland Avenue/Northwestern Parkway):  Daily shoulder or parking lane closures are possible from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for sidewalk ramp improvements on Portland Avenue/Northwestern Parkway (KY 3064) from 22nd to 38th Street. This work is being done in advance of an asphalt resurfacing project expected to be completed in the fall of 2023.

KY 3084 (Old Henry Road): Construction of a 5-lane roadway from KY 3084 (mile point 1.6) to mile point 1.8 and a 3-lane roadway from that point to the Oldham County line (mile point 3.15). This project includes grading work, drainage, and asphalt surface with the bridge. The project is expected to be completed in the winter of 2024.

KY 3084 (Old Henry Road):  Complete roadway closure between Factory Lane and Twin Creek Drive/Ridge Brook Circle from 9 a.m. Monday, April 17 to 7 a.m. Thursday, April 20. The closure is necessary as crews complete the installation of sanitary sewer and water main casings. This work is being done as a part of the KY 3084/KY 362 construction project.

KY 3216 (North 38th Street):  Daily lane closures are possible on 38th Street for asphalt repairs between Bank Street and Northwestern Parkway. This work is being done in advance of an asphalt resurfacing project expected to be completed in the fall of 2023.

KY 3217 (North 37th Street):  Daily lane closures are possible on 37th Street for asphalt repairs between Northwestern Parkway and Bank Street. This work is being done in advance of an asphalt resurfacing project expected to be completed in the fall of 2023.

Scenic Loop: Road closed starting Thursday, March 16, at the bridge over the Middle Fork of Beargrass Creek (mile point 1.796) in Cherokee Park. Contract crews will be replacing the bridge. During the bridge closure, signs in the area will direct motorists to utilize Beals Branch Road, Lexington Road (U.S. 60A), and Cochran Hill Road as the posted detour. The bridge will remain closed until late spring 2023.

Zorn Avenue at I-71 South: Lane closures, shoulder closures, and delays are possible as crews work to install a traffic signal at the interchange. Drivers will be directed through these work zones via flagging operations. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023.
