Reno-Weber appointed as District 8 Councilman

Louisville Metro Council last night appointed Benjamin Jay Reno-Weber to represent Metro District 8. Reno-Weber received 14 votes.

The appointment replaces former D-8 Councilwoman Cassie Chambers-Armstrong, who won a special election in February to the Kentucky Senate's 19th District seat.

Immediately after the vote, Councilman Reno-Weber took the Oath of Office and then participated in the Council meeting. This council seat will be on the ballot for a special election on November 7. Reno-Weber will serve until the special election results are certified, around mid-November.

Reno-Weber is a Democrat and has lived in District 8 for the past twelve years. He is the Deputy Director of Humana Health Equity Innovation Hub at the University of Louisville.

Welcome and good luck to Councilman Reno-Weber!
