Please join us in making some noise and bringing some toys during the 2022 Mayor's Challenge Toys for Tots Drive! This year we hope to surpass our 2021 numbers and bring some extra joy to boys and girls this holiday season!
This year, the need is greatest for boys and girls ages 10 to 12, and 13 to 16. If you would like toys suggestions for these age groups, please see below:

Visit Lights on Main, a display of Christmas trees in Downtown Louisville located in the RePurposed lot.
An anticipated 100 trees will be decorated for the holiday season, intended to promote community and attract patrons to the downtown business district. Each tree is sponsored and decorated by a local corporation, group, family or individual.
Letters to the North Pole, pictures with Santa, pictures with the Grinch and kids' crafts will be offered every Friday and Saturday.

The family-friendly Santa Sleigh 5K for Kids will take place this Saturday starting at 9 a.m. in Joe Creason Park.
Registration is $30 and includes a professionally timed 5K run/walk, a custom Santa hat and a finisher’s medal. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana (RMHCK), whose mission is to provide a home and support for families while focusing on the healing of their sick children.
Race participants are encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal on the day of the race to donate to RMHCK children. A toy donation box for Camp Quality Kentuckiana will also be on sight for those hoping to spread holiday cheer by supporting Louisville Parks and Recreation’s holiday giving campaign.
Race participants should plan to arrive an hour before start time as access to Joe Creason Park entrances will be closed prior to the start of the race and will remain closed until the completion of the 5K.

The 37th annual Bardstown Road Aglow returns this Saturday along Bardstown Road, Baxter and Barret Avenues in the Highlands.
Come out and enjoy the biggest day of holiday shopping and fun in the Highlands!
The annual Wendy's Holiday Tree Lighting will take place at 6 p.m. (in the Wendy's parking lot at Bardstown Road & Grinstead) with Local Celebrities Connie Leonard and WAVE3's Kent Taylor plus jolly ole Santa Claus with festive music.
Participating restaurants and shops along Bardstown Road, Baxter & Barret Avenues, and Douglass Loop will offer special discounts on food, drinks, and merchandise. Free Trolley Rides will be offered from Bardstown Road to Baxter and Barret Avenues and Douglass Loop.
There will be live holiday music at six Highlands locations from 6 - 8 p.m. and Elijah Craig Bourbon will be featured in festive holiday cocktails throughout the area!
Also, participate in the Instagram Photo Contests by using the hashtag #Aglow502. Contest ends at midnight on Sunday, December 4th with first, second and third place winners being announced.

Light Up St. Matthews has been a tradition for decades for thousands of residents and visitors to the City of St. Matthews. The tradition continues this Saturday in Brown Park!
The event features musical entertainment, letters to Santa, pictures with Santa, train rides, ice skating, activities for the kids, and fun for the entire family. Free cookies and hot chocolate are available for everyone to enjoy.
The event concludes at 6 p.m. when the switch is thrown and Brown Park “Lights Up” with thousands and thousands of colorful holiday lights!
The event is held at Brown Park in St. Matthews, located at the corner of Kresge Way and Browns Lane, next to Baptist Health Hospital. Free parking for the event is at the Baptist Health Louisville doctors building, 4007 Kresge Way, directly across from the hospital with easy access to the park via a signaled crosswalk.

The KFC Yum! Center has partnered with Norton Children’s to bring back its annual holiday movie night. The venue will offer a free screening of the holiday classic, Home Alone 2.
The community is invited to watch the movie on the arena’s massive center hung digital screen. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy other free activities including holiday-themed photo booths and activities, pictures with Santa, roving entertainment and more.
Norton Children's will have giveaways for the first 1,000 guests.
The KFC Yum! Center Holiday Movie Night is open to all ages and guests should register for their free tickets to reserve a spot. Doors and activities open at 6 p.m and the movie begins at 7 p.m.
No outside food or drink will be permitted at the event, but KFC Yum! Center concession stands will offer popcorn and a variety of food and drinks for sale.
Guests can bring some extra holiday cheer to Norton Children’s patients this holiday season by donating new toys during the Norton Children’s Toy Drive at the event. Toys can be dropped off in the arena’s lobby upon entry.

Tis the season for the Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour. Returning for its 45th year, this self-guided, three-block walking tour will showcase some of Old Louisville's most stunning mansions dressed in their holiday finest.
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 on the day of the event. They may be purchased online at or in-person at the Historic Old Louisville Visitors Center inside Central Park (1340 S 4th Street). Children 18 and under are free.

Louisville Mega Cavern’s Lights Under Louisville returns with more than 40 themed displays, mapping projections, approximately 900 illuminated characters, 4 LED light tunnels, including a new 200-foot-long MEGA light tunnel, two laser sections, and nearly 6,000,000 points of light that will spread mega cheer and holiday spirit this season. Lights Under Louisville will take visitors on an immersive ride through more than one mile of cavern passageways as visitors drive through millions of dazzling lights, festive lasers, and even larger captivating light tunnels.
Open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., guests can expect a one-of-a-kind holly jolly experience, complete with lasers dancing to the beat of holiday music.
