Christmas is just around the corner! Are you interested in giving back this holiday season? If so, consider sponsoring a child by donating $125 to United Crescent Hill Ministries’ Christmas Connection Program. Your donation of $125 will be used to purchase retail and grocery gift cards to cover a child’s gifts and food needs over the holidays. These gift cards allow families to prioritize their needs, as well as give them the dignity of providing for their family in the best way that they see fit. In 2021, the community helped UCHM provide Christmas support to over 100 children.
Please make any donations by December 2 so UCHM will know how many children can be served this year. If you are unable to donate the full $125 to sponsor a child, please consider making a smaller donation to go towards the program. Any amount is meaningful and will go to support a family during the holidays.
If you are interested in donating or sponsoring a family, please click here to donate online through Paypal by selecting “Christmas Connection Program” in the drop down menu. You can also send cash or a check to United Crescent Hill Ministries at 150 State Street. If you have questions or are looking for other ways to help, please contact Stephanie Henry-Floyd at shfloyd@uchmlouky.org.

In the meantime, the proposal to amend Louisville’s Homeless Protection ordinance, which we wrote about on September 15, continues to be debated in Metro Council. Several of the most objectionable provisions in the original proposal have been removed but new issues continue to arise. The latest story from WFPL is here.

House of Ruth, the only local organization committed to ending homelessness among people living with HIV and AIDS, is happy to announce that the annual fundraising event Dining Out for Life will return on World AIDS Day, December 1, 2022.
Each year, Dining Out for Life raises money for community-based organizations serving people living with or impacted by HIV.
