This Monday join us for the Mayor's Memorial Day Hike, Bike & Paddle event at the Louisville Community Boathouse, 1325 River Road! A big thank you to Norton Sports Health for supporting this community event.
This year's event will feature a 13-mile bike ride from the Waterfront Park Boathouse Lawn to Shawnee Park and back, multiple length walk options in Waterfront Park and across the Big Four Bridge, and a paddle route upriver to Beargrass Creek!
Beginning at 8 a.m., warm up for your hike, bike or paddle by taking part in Yoga, Zumba, or Tai Chi! Hike, Bike & Paddle kicks off at 9 a.m. and is all about getting out, enjoying nature and our neighborhoods while participating in physical activity. This non-competitive family-friendly event will offer the first 2,000 attendees a free Hike, Bike & Paddle t-shirt.
Additionally, this year the first 500 participants to arrive will receive a free general admission day pass to Abbey Road on the River happening the same day! There will also be two bike raffles happening so make sure to stop by all the tents and tables and check them all out!
Flags4Vets will be set up on the lawn of the Community Boathouse with their American display honoring our fallen and departed veterans for Memorial Day.

The 20th season of Louisville’s favorite concert series continues on this Wednesday with Maggie Rose headlining at 9 p.m., Boa Boys at 7:30 p.m., and Phourist & the Photons at 6 p.m.
This free, family-friendly concert takes place on the Big Four Lawn in Louisville’s Waterfront Park. The Big Four Lawn is located next to the Big Four Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge. The shows open at 5 p.m., with music beginning promptly at 6 p.m.

Abbey Road on the River is the world's largest Beatles-inspired music festival!
Attendees enjoy over 250 Beatles and 60’s themed concerts performed by 50 different bands from around the world! Attendees can also enjoy a Beatles-merchandise marketplace, on-site food and beverages, retail and craft vendors, interactive art and a kid’s area.
More than 20,000 music fans from across the universe have been regularly attending Abbey Road on the River since 2002. They come with friends, with kids, with grandkids, or even alone. They come because it’s a place where everybody’s happy. A place where the fans mingle with the bands, and the bands become fans when they watch fellow bands perform. A place where every day is like a magical mystery tour down memory lane.

According to the Forecastle Festival, "A Forecastle is a superstructure at the bow of a ship where the crew is housed. Hard at work in the unruly sea, it’s a place workers gather after a long day to unwind. A place where the people come together, for one whale of a good time."
Well, this weekend is sure to be a whale of a good time on the Waterfront! With headliners such as Louisville's own Jack Harlow, Tame Impala, and Tyler, the Creator plus dozens of other great acts. This year's Forecastle is a can't miss!

Starting next Wednesday, experience Food Truck Wednesdays at 4th Street between Jefferson and Market Streets! Louisville Downtown Partnership has curated many amazing food trucks to serve lunchtime patrons each Wednesday through October!
The street will be closed off to foot traffic only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each week. Food trucks will serve food from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Come on over to 4th Street and eat some delicious, local food!

See the Zoo in a whole new light as you enjoy one of the largest lantern festivals in the nation featuring thousands of handcrafted silk-covered lanterns aglow with more than 50,000 LED light bulbs.
Embark on a journey to the far east as you stroll alongside dramatic cultural displays celebrating the rich heritage and craftsmanship of lantern artisans. Dramatic archways illuminate the way on a magical journey past colorful peacocks, slithering serpents, and a beautiful African savanna. Majestic butterflies beckon you into a world of larger-than-life insects and animals from all around the world. Kids (or kids at heart) can become part of the magic while swaying on our glowing moonlight swings or stepping inside a gigantic kaleidoscope for some whirling, twirling fun. The wonder of Wild Lights is sure to create glowing smiles and bright memories for guests of all ages.
Opening night is Friday, March 18th. Wild Lights will be open every Thursday through Sunday until June 5th.
General Public tickets are $20, members $17, and children 2 and under are free. Purchase your tickets ahead of time here!
