Hi all,
On behalf of several District 8 Neighborhood Associations, I wanted to make sure you were aware of the community meeting about the JCPS School Choice Proposal that is happening this upcoming Sunday at 5pm at Deer Park Baptist Church.
Although Metro Council has no involvement in the proposal, I know that many in the community are interested in learning more and asking questions. This event is sponsored by several neighborhood associations and small cities in the District. It is a chance to ask questions and learn more about the current proposal.
Since this meeting was not scheduled at the time I sent my last newsletter, I wanted to make sure folks were aware that it was happening. I plan to attend to hear residents' concerns and further educate myself on the issues. School Board Member Chris Kolb will be on hand to answer specific questions and provide more information. More details below!
