ATTENTION: Storm Debris Pick Up at Fern Creek Park Ends this Saturday at 7:00pm!

Don’t miss out on these last few days to use the Storm Debris Pick Up at Fern Creek Park. This Storm collection service will end Saturday, April 30^th at 7:00pm.

Please take notice that any materials dropped at Fern Creek Park after Saturday at 7:00pm will be considered illegal dumping.

Storm Debris Collection Plan

Residents of Jefferson County are invited to drop off storm debris for free. This includes all tree debris and bulky waste from storm damage. Since all tree debris will be composted, it must be separate from bulky waste for easy off-loading at each site. Residents will be asked to provide their name and address at the drop-off sites.

Drop-off sites and hours:

• Public Works Yard, 10500 Lower River Road (enter from Bethany Lane)
• Charlie Vettiner Park, 5550 Charlie Vettiner Park Road (by disc golf course)
• Fern Creek Park, 8703 Ferndale Road
• Highview Park, 7120 Briscoe Lane
• Waste Reduction Center, 636 Meriwether Avenue

April 15 – April 30 (or longer if necessary)

Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Household hazardous waste will not be accepted.

Contractors and businesses who are hauling debris are invited to use the Waste Reduction Center for the usual fee. See, Louisvilleky.gov/WRC

All yard waste set out for curbside collection in the Urban Services District must follow the regular guidelines: limbs must be less than 4 feet long and less than 2 inches in diameter. All material must be in a container or paper bag or tied into bundles weighing less than 60 lbs. See, Louisvilleky.gov/YardWaste

Hometown Hauling is asking their customers to call their office if they have extra trash or yard waste due to the storm. There may be additional fees for collection, but they are dealing with each customer on a case-by-case basis. Residents serviced by other private waste haulers are encouraged to contact their provider about storm debris removal procedures.

As of Thursday, April 14, Public Works crews are assessing the damage of the hardest hit areas and will create an action plan to address those needs.
