Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District Invites Businesses & Facilities to Become Air Quality Action Partners

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (APCD) invites local facilities and businesses to become Air Quality Action Partners and join in efforts to reduce ambient air pollution in Louisville and limit the impact of pollution on the health of our residents.

APCD created the Air Quality Action Partners program in 2021 to encourage facilities to take voluntary actions that will improve Louisville’s air quality. Twenty eight facilities joined, making commitments that ranged from receiving Air Quality Alerts and distributing them to employees, to prioritizing the purchase and use of lower emission vehicles in their fleet.

This year the program is expanding its call for participation beyond just APCD-permitted facilities to take sign-ups from any business or organization that would like to help Louisville’s air quality and be recognized as an Air Quality Action Partner. Businesses are encouraged to learn more and apply here by April 30. While participants may sign up after that date, the Air Quality Action Partners that sign up by the deadline will be announced at this May’s meeting of the Air Pollution Control Board, along with a recap and recognition of Platinum and Gold Level partners that followed through on 2021 commitments.
