Fundraiser for Officer Zachary Cottongim's Family to beheld at Tim Tam Tavern on Monday, December 27, 2021

Kenny Sullivan of Tim Tam Tavern located at 1022 Clarks Ln in Metro Council District 10 announces they will host a fundraiser for the family of Officer Zachary Cottongim. On Monday, December 27, 2021 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm a limited menu of pizza, bread sticks and spaghetti will be offered. One hundred percent of the proceeds of the day will be given to the family of officer Cottongim who was recently tragically killed while on duty. We appreciate Kenny's generocity and we hope there is a big turnout.

Happy Holidays

Solid waste collection services will NOT be affected by Christmas and New Year's Day holidays since they fall on a Saturday. Residents normally serviced by private waste haulers should check with those companies for holiday collection schedules.

Staffed Drop-off Locations The full-service recycling locations, along with the Waste Reduction Center and Haz Bin, will be closing early at 1 p.m. on December 24 and December 31. They will be closed all day on December 25 and January 1.

  • Waste Reduction Center, 636 Meriwether Avenue
  • Haz Bin, Household Hazardous Waste Facility, 7501 Grade Lane

Christmas Tree Drop-Off

Starting Tuesday, December 28, Christmas tree drop-off sites will be available for all Louisville/Jefferson County residents at three locations. The Hubbards Lane site will also instantly recycle Christmas trees into mulch that will be offered back to citizens for home use. Those wishing to receive mulch must bring an appropriate container in which to carry it. All lights and ornaments should be removed from trees before they are dropped off. Christmas tree vendors may recycle their unsold trees on Tuesday, December 28 only, and only at the Hubbards Lane site.

Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (Waste Reduction Center closes at 3:00pm on Saturdays)

December 28 - January 29

All locations will close at 1:00pm on Friday, December 31 and will be closed Saturday, January 1 and Saturday, January 15.
