Come out and join the magic of the Holiday Season with Lots of Lights and Live Music as they transform the Heart of Fairdale to the Spirit of Christmas!

  • 🎅 Santa will be brought to Town Traditionally on the Fire Truck 🚒 We are Planning of the Traditional Parade so Merry up your Vehicles/Floats & Favorite Christmas Character Costumes!!!
  • The Parade begins at Fairdale Highschool so arrive Early for the Line up 🚖🚔🎅🚜🚒🕞
  • After the Parade , Enjoy the Live Entertainment and Santa will be Ready for kids to see him and tell him their Christmas wishes 🎁 So Parents Have Your Camera Ready 🎅
  • As 530pm approaches, We Count Down to Light the Tree Then Beautiful Voices are Lifted of Traditional Christmas Carols 🎶Some of our Local Churches will be leading Singing Christmas Carols around the Town Christmas Tree🌲As we Celebrate the Birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ
  • Get your Hot Chocolate , Cookies and Blanket Ready with the Children as the Grand Finally of the Night ,,, Santa will once again take the Spotlight at 630pm and Read to the Children "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and the Story of the True Meaning of Christmas "The Story of Jesus"
  • We ask All the Local Businesses to Light Your Businesses with White Lights to Brighten up The Community!!! Bring out the Families for this Best time of this year and help share the Joy of Christmas. So Dress up the Kids and Families in your Favorite Christmas Characters from Christmas Shows they love so well !! There will be lots of Food and Drinks from Vendors available for everyone to enjoy.

Toys for Tots Toy Drive! Today

Come by this Friday to Metro Hall, 527 W. Jefferson Street, to participate in the 2021 Mayor's Challenge Toys for Tots toy drive! Bring a new, unwrapped present for a child to drop off at our Toys for Tots box between 6:30 A.M. and 6:30 P.M. Marines will be on-site to assist with the collection and there will be a dedicated drive-thru lane in which residents can drive up and hand off their gift to a volunteer on-site. 

This year we hope to surpass all past Toy Drive records and spread even more holiday cheer to families all over Kentuckiana!

Evolve502 Scholarship Open

On Saturday, Councilwoman Holton Stewart attend Evolve502's College One-Stop Shop to help JCPS seniors apply for financial assistance to attend college. Evolve502 is currently accepting scholarship applications from eligible students in the JCPS Class of 2022. Students can view eligibility and apply now through July 15 at evolve502.org/scholarship.

Senator David Yates, Councilwoman Amy Holton Stewart and Shirley’s Way are calling on all Citizens, Businesses, Unions and Organizations to donate NEW coats!

In honor of former District 25 Staff Assistant, colleague and friend, Chase Gavin, please donate NEW Coats, Gloves & Scarves to support JCPS students in need!

Chase helped make the Coat-A-Kid Drive successful under then Councilman David Yates. Chase passed away in early 2021 and in his honor David dedicated future Coat-A-Kid Drives in Chase's name for his service and heart for those in need.

Wild Winter Days at the Louisville Zoo

Visitors who bring in one canned good item (per person) to donate to Dare to Care may purchase tickets at the Zoo windows for $9.50 per adult and $6.50 per child/ senior ticket. 

The discount is available at the gate only; not valid for online purchases. The offer is not valid for special fee-based programs, for prepaid groups, field trips or with other discounts. No refunds will be provided for tickets prepaid in advanced or purchase online. Leaf Drop-Off Sites

The Metro Public Works free leaf drop-off sites will be open Tuesday-Saturdays, November 9 through December 11. Drop-off will not be available on November 25 and 26 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Only loose leaves will be accepted. Containers used to bring leaves to the drop-off sites must be taken back by residents.
