Store Grand Opening set for 11:00 a.m. on April 28th
Louisville – President David James (D-6) will officially welcome a new food store to the Old Louisville area with the Grand Opening of Garden Girl Foods on West Oak street this coming Wednesday, April 28th.
“Whitney Powers is to be commended for her desire to bring fresh foods to Old Louisville at a time when the people of this district need more, not less, options for food shopping,” says James. “I look forward to welcoming her new venture and call upon the community to come out and support her.”
The Garden Girl Foods store is located at 501 West Oak Street. The official grand opening is set for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
What began as a hobby has quickly grown for Mrs. Powers from a food stand at the Logan Street Market to expansion into a new store on Oak Street. She offers fresh grown vegetables which have become homemade canned goods to the community.
The store also offers classes in homemade canning and gardening for those interested.
