District 25 Community Clean-Up Success!

Councilwoman Holton Stewart helped make New Cut Road and Prairie Village a little bit cleaner with her husband a handful of volunteers. 

Thank you to all of the volunteers that pitched in over the rainy weekend to make a difference. We appreciate all of the community led clean ups and encourage everyone to do their part throughout the year.

The B.A. Colonial is Hiring and Opening Soon!

The B.A. Colonial, the final piece in the Colonial Gardens restaurant lineup, is set to open Friday, April 23, at 818 Kenwood Drive. It joins Taco Luchador, Union15, Biscuit Belly and, across the road, Back Deck BBQ, which is also expected to open this spring.

B.A. Colonial is hiring for all positions!

Walk-ins are accepted on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 11am-6pm for on the spot interviews.

Southern Parkway Lane Reconfiguration Survey

KYTC is repaving Southern Pkwy from 3rd Street to Woodlawn soon and they have proposed a reconfiguration to 3 lanes to improve safety. 

They would like input from neighbors and users, and have asked us to help get the word out.

Public Comments Accepted During Virtual Public Meetings for LG&E/KU Rate Cases

The Kentucky Public Service Commission will conduct three
public meetings to provide information on and receive public comments regarding Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities rate cases (2020-00350 & 2020-00349).

The PSC is an independent agency attached for administrative purposes to the Energy and Environment Cabinet. It regulates more than 1,100 gas, water, sewer, electric and telecommunication utilities operating in Kentucky

The meetings are being conducted virtually due to the continuing COVID-19 state of emergency. Each session will begin with a brief overview from PSC staff on the key elements in the case followed by public comments.

Dates and Times:

  • Thursday, April 15, 2021 - 5:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 20, 2021 - 5:00 p.m.

Anyone wishing to speak, please email psc.meeting@ky.gov to be placed on the list of speakers. Include your name, address, phone and email address.


Additional details on how to attend by either viewing or speaking during the virtual public meeting will be posted on the PSC web site.

GP Warrior's Walk

The GP Warrior's Walk benefitting G-Pact is set for the weekend of April 17th and 18th 2021 and because it is Virtual, can be done anywhere in the U.S.A or abroad.

Registration is FREE however we are accepting donations of your choice to be sent directly to G-Pact. G-PACT is a 501C3 non profit that devotes their time using these funds to support patient care, research and awareness of this little known disease.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Louisville Metro Department of Parks & Recreation, TreesLouisville is excited to announce the opening of another round of its Residential Shade Tree Rebate Program!

Did you know? Nearly 70% of available planting space in Jefferson County is privately owned. Planting a tree at home is one of the best and easiest ways you can help expand our community tree canopy and grow a greener, healthier neighborhood.

To participate, purchase and plant an eligible shade tree on your residential property and apply to receive $30 back on up to three trees. This program is open to residents of Jefferson County, KY on a first-come, first-serve basis until all funds have been claimed. Evolve502 Scholarship Allows Class of 2021 to Attend College Tuition FREE

JCPS seniors can go to college for free through a new scholarship offered by Evolve502!

The scholarship, which launched Oct. 1, allows eligible students in the Class of 2021 to begin postsecondary studies tuition-free at any Kentucky Community and Technical College school, Including Jefferson Community and Technical College, or Simmons College of Kentucky to pursue an associate degree or career credential, or take 60 hours of credit. The Evolve502 scholarship is a last dollar scholarship, meaning Evolve502 will fund the difference between federal and state financial aid and college tuition.

The application takes about five minutes to complete online at evolve502.org/scholarship. Once applications are submitted and reviewed, applicants will receive a follow-up email with next steps including completing the federal financial aid form and applying to eligible colleges.

In addition to the scholarship, Evolve502 is offering opportunity grants to support students whose families earn less than $40,000 annually. The opportunity grants are $1,000 per semester ($2,000 maximum per year) and can be used to assist in costs outside of tuition including healthcare, transportation, books and more. The grants will automatically be given to Evolve502 Scholarship recipients who meet qualifications.
