Top COVID-19 Takeaways from the Week
COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments Available Today
 On Monday, COVID-19 vaccine eligibility expanded to include all individuals ages 16 and up. There are appointments available through our hospital and community partners.
Many are available as early as today!

LouVax Shifting to Mobile Missions, Site to Remain Open Through April
 Residents wait their turn for COVID vaccinations at Hope Wellness Center in West Louisville
Today, LouVax administered its final primary dose as it begins to wind down drive-thru operations. The site will remain open through the end of April to give second doses to everyone that received their first dose at LouVax.
As LouVax shifts from drive-thru vaccinations, it will shift to deploying resources towards mobile vaccination missions through LouVax-Mobile.
Each mobile mission will be tailored to a specific group and may focus on a neighborhood, a demographic, or an organization.

Here are the key stats for vaccinations in Metro Louisville:
- Citywide, 444,096 total doses have been administered between the LouVax site and its healthcare system community partners, Norton Healthcare, UofL Health and Baptist Health. Of that total number, 158,654 have completed both doses
- Through its LouVax site, the Louisville Department of Public Health and Wellness has given 87,558 doses to date.
Vaccinations increase, Louisville COVID cases remain elevated
 During Tuesday's weekly COVID update, Dr. Moyer reported that cases, hospitalizations and deaths in Louisville are on a steady decline placing the city firmly in the alert level orange.
Dr. Moyer praised residents for their efforts following the public health practices of wearing masks, social distancing, washing their hands and getting vaccinated when they can.
"I'm proud of our residents and essential workers who for the past year have exercised patience and understanding while doing what needs to be done to protect everyone in our community," Dr. Moyer said. "Let's continue doing what works and encourage each other to get vaccinated."
Here are the COVID-19 data metrics for the week of April 5, 2021:
- 624 positive cases reported
- 11.6 cases per 100,000 population
