COVID-19 Vaccination Site Open in West Louisville
New COVID-19 vaccination site at Whitney M. Young Elementary School in West Louisville. This multi-week vaccination clinic is a partnership with JCPS, The Humana Foundation, Norton Healthcare, Louisville Metro Department of Public Health & Wellness and Team Kentucky.
Metro councilmembers are on spring break so there won't be meetings this week. Committee meetings will start again the week of Monday, April 12th. The next full Metro Council meeting is Thursday, April 22nd.

League of Women Voters of Louisville is honored to announce that their nominee Ellen Niehoff, Social Studies teacher for 15 years at Central High School, has been accepted into Harvard University's Case Method workshop for Civics Teachers. The Harvard Case Method Institute invited Leagues across the country to nominate high school history, government, and civics teachers to its professional development workshop. The training is the entry-point to a sustained partnership with the Case Method Institute for Education and Democracy, and encourages the development of critical thinking about civil issues
Bridge Replacement Begins on Champions Trace Lane in Jefferson County
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of work scheduled to begin next week to replace the bridge on Champions Trace Lane (CR 1021) over South Fork Bear Grass Creek (mile marker 0.71) in Jefferson County. The structure will be closed for 30 days beginning on Monday, April 5, as work on the project is completed. For more information click here.
Public Comments Accepted During Virtual Public Meetings for LG&E/KU Rate Cases
The Kentucky Public Service Commission will conduct three public meetings to provide information on and receive public comments regarding Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities rate cases (2020-00350 & 2020-00349). Black Lives Matter Protests Survey
This is an anonymous survey asking for your opinion on the Black Lives Matter protests in Louisville this past year and is being conducted as a part of a student's independent research at university. The only requirement for participation is that you be 18 years of age or older and have been a resident of Louisville for at least the past year. Wayside Christian Encampment Cleaning Plan
From April 15 to April 20 there will be a cleanup outreach at the Jackson street overpass between Jefferson and Market streets, Preston street overpass between Liberty and Jefferson streets, and Main street overpass between Hancock and Jackson street. The cleaning schedule is below.

Two-Way Street Conversion
Louisville Metro Council allocated $1 million in the Fiscal Year 2021 budget for safety improvements to Louisville's one-way streets, with a focus on streets in West Louisville. Chestnut Street/River Park Drive and Muhammad Ali Blvd, from 9th Street to Southwestern Parkway, were identified as priority corridors for these safety improvements.
