Big Lots opening April 15 at former Kmart

The new Big Lots at 4025 Poplar Level Road is opening Thursday, April 15. 

“It’s been a long time coming," Councilman Mulvihill said of the four-year process. "I want to thank Peter Park, President of P&M Investment Company, and Louisville Forward for all their hard work, collaboration and patience."

Plans for the property include an Autozone MegaHub and Planet Fitness, as well as development of out lots.  


April 10 - Schnitzelburg Area Community Council Clean-Up

Tomorrow's the day! The Schnitzelburg Area Community Council Clean-Up is Saturday, April 10 from 9 a.m. to noon.

SACC and Brightside will provide gloves, bags, and grabbers. Come to The Merryweather at 1101 Lydia Street any time between 9 and 11 a.m. to pick up your supplies. You decide where you pick up!

Anyone who brings a partially or fully filled trash bag back to The Merryweather by noon may enjoy special perks for the day and their name will be entered to win a Merryweather merch package. More information is at the SACC Facebook page

April 24 - Shakespeare in the Parks schedules Romeo & Juliet in Emerson Park

Shakespeare in the Parks

Kentucky Shakespeare announces the return of the free Shakespeare in the Parks tour this spring. The seven-actor, 85-minute production of Romeo and Juliet will be at Emerson Park April 24, pending Louisville Metro special event permit approval.
