+ Mayor to deliver annual State of the City address
Thursday, Jan. 14, 202 at 12 p.m.
Mayor Greg Fischer will deliver his annual State of the City address this Thursday on the Rotary Club of Louisville's Zoom meeting.

+ City accepting applications from nonprofits for HUD grants
Starting today, Louisville Metro Government will be accepting applications from local non-profit organizations for programs or activities seeking funding as sub-recipients to the following U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grants for fiscal year 2022 (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022).
- Community Development Block Grant (CDBG),
- Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and
- Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA)
These grants are administered locally by the Louisville Metro Office of Resilience and Community Services (RCS).
There will be a virtual, mandatory orientation via Webex Friday, January 15, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Please register for the Webex event here.
A final public virtual meeting for questions will be held Monday, February 8, 10 a.m. -1 1:30 a.m. Please email Nancy Griffin (nancy.griffin@louisvilleky.gov) if you would like to attend the final public virtual meeting.
The deadline to submit an application is Friday, February 12, 2021 by 5:00 p.m. No late submissions will be accepted.

+ Deadline to enter in the United We Stand" art competition extended
The new deadline to submit applications for the "United We Stand" student art competition will be Saturday January 23, 2021.
This competition invites all students—kindergarten through 12th grade—living in Jefferson County, to use their creativity to envision what the first part of the Kentucky state motto, “United We Stand,” means to them.
You can drop off submissions at any Louisville Free Public Library Location fromJanuary 4-9 during their regular hours of operation.

+ Crisis component of LIHEAP now providing utility assistance for Louisville residents
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is administered by the Louisville Metro Office of Resilience and Community Services. The LIHEAP Crisis Component will run from Jan. 4 - March 31, or until available funds have been expended.
This year’s Crisis Program will allow residents receiving a current utility bill with a past due amount and residents receiving a disconnect notice to apply for assistance.
To apply, residents must schedule an appointment through the automated appointment system. Appointments can be scheduled by phone by calling 502-991-8391 or online at louisvilleky.cascheduler.com. The toll-free service is currently open and is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Applicants must be a resident of Jefferson County with a household income at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines (e.g. for a household of four, the gross monthly income cannot exceed $3,275.00). Applicants must also meet one of the following eligibility requirements:
- Received a disconnect notice from LG&E, or
- Received a current bill with a past due amount, or
- Have a current payment plan with LG&E due to a past-due balance, or
- Received an eviction notice if utilities are included in the rent, or
- Be within four days of running out of bulk fuel; or
- Be within ten days of running out of pre-paid electric service.
Applicants must provide copies of the following documents.
- Proof of all household income for the preceding month (Food Stamp award letter, Social Security Award letter, pay stubs, or proof of $0 income). Note: Zero Income forms are available at the LIHEAP Drop Box locations or by clicking here.
- Social Security card(s) or (official documentation with Social Security Numbers) or Permanent Residence card (Green Card) for each member of the household; and
- Disconnect notice or a current bill with a past due amount for metered utilities; or
- Eviction notice and copy of lease if heating expenses are included in the rent. or
- Statement from utility company that shows 10 days or less of service if participating in pre-paid electric service.

+ KRM offering Victims Advocacy Program to individuals with limited English proficiency
Kentucky Refugee Ministries is offering advocacy to anyone with limited English Proficiency who needs services regarding crime committed against them. Everyone who needs services is eligible regardless of their immigration status.
