Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, striping, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night. Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district daily.

I-64 East: Ramp to I-64 East from 9th Street and Market Street will be fully closed beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, for a ramp improvement project. Drivers can detour the area by taking 9th Street to the on-ramp at the intersection of 9th Street and Main Street. Signs in the area will notify drivers.

I-64 East: Right lane and shoulder closure near mile marker 10.8 (near Cannons Lane interchange) for sign work on Monday, Oct. 19. The closures are scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists should watch for crews in the work zone. As part of this work, a temporary stop sign will be added to the bottom of the on-ramp from Cannons Lane to I-64 East as work takes place. Signs on the ramp will notify motorists in advance. 

I-64 East: The right turning lane that allows drivers to turn onto Market Street from Exit 4 (9th Street/Roy Wilkins/Market) will be closed starting on Oct. 15. The lane is scheduled to remain closed until the end of November. Motorists can follow a signed detour which will direct them to turn left on Market Street, then take 8th Street to West Jefferson Street before connecting again with Market Street.

I-64 West: The ramp from I-64 West to Exit 4 (9th Street/Roy Wilkins/Market) will be closed as part of a ramp improvement project. Motorists can take the following detour: Take the exit to U.S. 150 East/22nd Street, follow 22nd Street to Market Street to connect to 9th Street. Intermittent overnight and weekend lane closures on I-64 under the ramp will take place as part of the work.

I-64 West: The ramp from 9th St to I-64 West will be closed as part of a ramp improvement project. Motorists can detour by taking 9th St to West Jefferson St to North 21st St to I-64 West. Intermittent overnight and weekend lane closures on I-64 under the ramp will take place as part of the work.

I-65 South (John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge): Single left lane closures scheduled on the Kennedy overnight on Tuesday, Oct. 20, Wednesday, Oct. 21, and Tuesday, Oct. 27 for pier gauge painting. Lane closures are scheduled between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

I-264 East (Watterson Expressway): Left lane and shoulder closure near mile marker 17.9 (near the exit lane to Breckinridge Lane North) for sign work on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The closures are scheduled between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The ramp will remain open. As part of this work, a temporary yield sign will be added to the bottom of the on-ramp from Breckinridge Lane South to I-264 East as work takes place. Signs on the ramp will notify motorists in advance. 

I-264 East (Watterson Expressway): Right lane and shoulder closure near mile marker 17.9 (near the exit lane to Breckinridge Lane North) for sign work on Wednesday, Oct. 21. The closures are scheduled between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The ramp will remain open. As part of this work, a temporary yield sign will be added to the bottom of the on-ramp from Breckinridge Lane South to I-264 East as work takes place. Signs on the ramp will notify motorists in advance. 

I-265 West (Gene Snyder Freeway): Ramp from KY 61 North (Preston Highway) to I-265 West closed for repair. Detour signs in the area will direct drivers.

KY 22 (Brownsboro Road): Lane closures and delays possible at mile marker 2.7 (Goose Creek Road) for road widening work. Work is scheduled to be complete by early fall. Drivers should heed signage in the area.

KY 1747 (Hurstbourne Parkway): Daily lane closures possible for signal work at the intersection of Bunsen Way (mile marker 11.4).

KY 1747 (Hurstbourne Parkway): Daily lane closures possible for signal work at the intersection of Bluegrass Parkway (mile marker 11.6).

KY 1747 (Hurstbourne Parkway): Daily lane closures possible for signal work at the intersection of Linn Station Road (mile marker 12.3).

Market Street: Lane closures possible at the intersection of Market Street and 9th Street in conjunction with a ramp improvement project.

U.S. 150 (East Broadway): Replacement of the bridge over South Fork of Beargrass Creek. The bridge will be closed beginning Monday, June 15. Work is scheduled to be complete by late October. Motorists should follow the signed detour.

BULLITT COUNTY

I-65: Left and right shoulders closed in both directions between mile marker 116 and 112 due to the construction of a new interchange. Northbound lanes will be shifted toward the inside shoulder as ramp construction begins. Intermittent daytime lane closures are possible Oct. 19 through Oct. 21. The speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH. Motorists should heed signage while moving through the work zone.

FRANKLIN COUNTY

KY 1689 (Switzer Road): Replacement of the bridge over North Elkhorn Creek (mile marker 3.3). The bridge will be closed for 60 days beginning Wednesday, Sept. 23. Motorists should follow the signed detour.

HENRY COUNTY

KY 3175 (Bedford Road): Lane closures possible at the bridge over White Sulphur Fork for bridge coating and guardrail work. Drivers should heed signage through the area.

KY 53 (Mt. Eden Road): Work to widen a portion of the roadway will take place from St. Regis Drive (mile marker 6.4) to U.S. 60 (mile marker 8). Two lanes of traffic will remain open to motorists throughout the duration of the project. Traffic will be moved over to new temporary pavement on Monday, Oct. 19.
