Lowe Road Closure Info

MSD 2015 Logo

Lowe road will be closed to through traffic for 2 weeks starting Monday, July 13th  by MSD for the installation of a new 15 inch storm drainage pipe near 4311 Lowe Road.

The project will alleviate flooding that has been occurring for a number of years at that location. MSD hopes to get the project done faster than 2 weeks, but their permit will allow that long in the event it takes longer than planned. According to MSD, residents should still have normal access to their homes as well as Des Pres Park.

Virtual Meet with Marilyn Event July 16th

Many of you may have attended one of my frequent "Meet with Marilyn" events that have been held at coffee shops, Heitzman Bakery, or even the new Northeast Regional Library over the last few years. Unfortunately, the pandemic has changed the way most of us conduct our daily lives and these community meetings are no different.

I have always enjoyed meeting with you face to face, listening to your concerns and talking about issues in our community. Until such a time when we can safely make this happen, I will be hosting these events virtually on a regular basis.

I will be hosting a virtual "Meet with Marilyn" on Thursday, July 16th from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

If you would like to attend, please email my office at Chris.Lewis@louisvilleky.gov to be added to the list of attendees.

I hope to see you there!

Louisville Water Company Celebrates Milestone

Louisville Water logo

Louisville Water is celebrating a milestone in maintaining great water quality.  We had planned this announcement in March, but like so many other things in our lives, this event was placed on hold due to the CORONA Virus pandemic.  Louisville Water has removed all of its known lead service lines that deliver drinking water.  This is an accomplishment that only a small number water utilities have achieved.

Louisville’s drinking water does not contain lead when it leaves the treatment plants.  The risk of lead getting into the drinking water happens as the water travels through pipes and plumbing that contain lead. Louisville Water’s scientists balance the water chemistry to minimize the risk, but eliminating the lead service line is important.

Now that we have eliminated our known lead service lines, we will be announcing a program to help customers who may have a lead line on their property.
