Beginning Tuesday, July 7, Fairdale's pool will open at 11 a.m. Sun Valley's pool will open Wednesday followed by Algonquin on Thursday. Each pool will be open two days a week from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Pools might open for more hours and days if parks and rec can hire additional lifeguards for the season All state health requirements will be followed, as well as local and state guidelines that determine how and when recreational water facilities operate.
If you or your family plan to go to the pools you are urged to practice social distancing and good hygiene. Visitors are encouraged to come wearing their swimsuits because access to changing areas is limited. Pool visitors must register to swim by calling Metro Parks Aquatics at 502-897-9949 no more than a week in advance. The three pools will have an initial maximum capacity of 45 swimmers per two-hour session.
