Labor, Economic Development and Contracts Committee to discuss economic impact of COVID 19 in Louisville Metro

Virtual meeting set for Tuesday, April 14th at 3:00pm

Louisville – The Metro Council’s Labor, Economic Development and Contracts Committee will have a special discussion at its next regular meeting on the impact of the COVID 19 virus on Louisville Metro’s economy.

“While we are still dealing with keeping the public safe and flattening the COVID 19 curve, it is important we as Council members get a sense of what impact this virus has had on local businesses and jobs,” says Councilman David Yates (D-25, who chairs the Committee. “I look forward to an informative discussion as we all deal with something the like we have never seen before.”
The Councilman has invited the following people to participate in the discussion via video conferencing:

• Dr. Paul Coomes, University of Louisville
• Steve Trager, Republic Bank and Trust
• David Oetken, Louisville Small Business Development Center

This meeting will be held as a video teleconference pursuant to KRS 61.826 and Senate Bill 150. Members will participate virtually from their homes, or in person from the Metro Council Chambers on the third floor of Historic City Hall, 601 West Jefferson Street.
