Did you know that you can help a shelter pet get adopted? Louisville Metro Animal Services is holding a Field Trip orientation from 2-3pm on Saturday, February 29th at Animal House Adoption Center, located at 3516 Newburg Road.
The program allows volunteers to give an adoptable dog a break from the shelter and spend the day together. Volunteers take their field trip companions to the park, dog-friendly businesses or home for a relaxing nap on the couch – the possibilities are endless! Volunteers must be 18 or accompanied by a parent or guardian, to attend Field Trip Orientation. For more info, email questions to animals@louisvilleky.gov
If you see a streetlight out in your neighborhood (or anywhere in Louisville), please note the address and report it to LG&E for repair.
Click HERE to fill out the online form to report broken or malfunctioning streetlights. We always recommend adding your contact information to the request, so a technician who has questions can contact you. LG&E makes repairs during the day. Make sure you follow up if the streetlight hasn’t been repaired within seven (7) days.
People who hike or ride horses on trails around Louisville are invited to a presentation of the Leave No Trace principles of trail use and management. Denise O’Meara, PLA, a certified master trainer in Leave No Trace principles, will speak on March 14, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the South Central Louisville Library (7300 Jefferson Boulevard).
