After hearing feedback from neighbors about wanting to see shorter newsletters, our office will begin to send newsletters weekly that are focused around one topic. This will also allow for our office to spotlight neighborhood events more frequently. If you have an event or service that you would like to see in our weekly newsletter, please email the District 21 Legislative Aide: Rachel.Roarx@louisvilleky.gov.
Have a great week!

This week's "Image of the Issue" spotlights Kyle Dock who is the new Recreation Supervisor at the Beechmont Community Center.
Kyle is a husband and father of two (two-year-old son Henry, and five-year-old daughter Josephine). Kyle is originally from a small town just outside of Dayton, Ohio, called Beavercreek. He moved to Louisville when he was four years old. Kyle grew up in the Highlands Neighborhood where he attended Atherton High School and played varsity soccer. He attend the University of Louisville and earned a bachelor’s degree in sport administration. During the past four years, Kyle served as the Supervisor of the Portland Community Center.
While Kyle is new to Beechmont, he says he is very much enjoying the feeling of community and the welcoming nature of people in the neighborhood. Kyle says, "the diversity is also remarkable and delicious too (nod to Vietnam Kitchen and the other various ethnic restaurants in the neighborhood)!"
When asked about his vision for Beechmont Community Center, Kyle states, "It is already a very vibrant and active center with a variety of recreational programming being offered. I would like to build on this with the addition of more community events, increased program offerings for those with interests outside of what we already offer, and expanded partnerships with outside organizations."
If you would like to get involved at Beechmont Community Center, call (502) 361-5484 or stop in (205 W Wellington Ave) to get a program schedule and copies of flyers for seasonal programs/events. Speak with their friendly staff: signing up for programming is fast and easy!
