What is the Green Triangle?

The Green Triangle is a community-led sustainability initiative in the 9th District, working to realize the following vision: Imagine Individuals, Businesses and Government working together to create a 9th District of:

-Green spaces for people to connect with nature and each other;

-Green options for transportation; and

-Green thinking that promotes the conservation of resources and our small neighborhood feel.

Sustainability Tip

Bike and Bus

Looking for a way to cut back on driving?  Here are a few tips:

Set a “no-drive zone.”  If you are able, challenge yourself to set a radius from your home within which you will walk, ride a bike, or take public transportation.  For instance, you may decide not to drive within a 2 mile radius.  There are several online tools that will assist you in setting a radius of your choosing.  Through the Cliff Bar Challenge, you can see a 2 mile or 4 mile radius from your home.  Or use this site to set your no-drive area.

Take advantage of new services that make finding a TARC bus route easier.  Google Maps now includes TARC routes in its search options.  The Louisville Mobile App for iPhones and Android now includes a tool that locates the bus nearest you.  Learn more

Find the best route for biking in Louisville.  Use “Ride the City” to find the best bike route between any two points in Louisville.  Need to brush up on safe biking?  Learn more from Bike Louisville.
