Let’s leave littering in 2019! It’s the new year and the perfect time to adopt new habits and routines. Hold on to that receipt until you reach a garbage can, pick up a piece of trash you notice in a parking lot, don’t throw that wrapper out of your car window. Simple actions like these can make a huge difference in our community and will show how much Southend pride we all have. I know we can work together to make 2020 our cleanest year yet!

Mai Tai, FEMALE CAT
Mai Tai’s looking for a quiet home where a shy cat can let down her guard. The 3-year-old, timid Tabby prefers to avoid crowds and other animals, so she would do best as the only cat in her home. She’s already spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. You can meet Mai Tai at Animal House Adoption Center, located at 3516 Newburg Rd. Animal House is open daily from 12-6pm.

Councilman Blackwell was contacted by a nearby business which was concerned about motorist safety at the intersection of Global Dr. and Greenbelt Hwy. After seeing the danger this location posed, Councilman Blackwell brought the issue to the State Transportation Cabinet's attention so it could be resolved.
To make this intersection safer for all who travel it, a new signal has been installed and will be activated Thursday, January 23rd after rush hour. Electronic signage has been installed at this location to alert motorists of this traffic pattern change, but please be cautious as you travel this intersection. The most dangerous times for motorists are directly after traffic pattern changes as drivers get used to new signals.

For the next two weeks, the Louisville Parks Foundation is once again conducting their annual survey. The information gathered from this survey is critical as they work to meet the needs of the community. They try very hard to ensure it represents members from all over Jefferson County, so we urge you to participate and have your voice heard!
The survey will close on Sunday, January 26 at midnight, so please take a moment out of your day to complete it's short questionnaire.
