“Always remember to forget

The troubles that pass away.

But never forget to remember

The blessings that come each day.”

- Irish Blessing

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanzaa to each of you celebrating in this upcoming holiday season and a blessed New Year to all!

We celebrate the progress we've made this year, while preparing for the challenges to come in 2020.

May we in District 10 continue to work together to make our neighborhoods better places to live. Thanks as always to our neighbors, first responders, business owners and everyone who sees a better future for our district.

Metro Hall Holiday Schedule

Metro offices will be closed at noon, Tuesday, December 24, all day Wednesday, December 25 and closed at noon on Tuesday, December 31, and all day on Wednesday, January 1.

The enews will take a break next week, too, and will return January 3.

No garbage, recycling or yard waste pickup on Christmas or New Year's Day

There will be no residential garbage, yard waste or recycling collection on Wednesday, December 25 and Wednesday, January 1 in the Urban Services District (former Louisville city limits). Residents should set out garbage, recycling or yard waste as usual but collection will be delayed by at least a day and should be picked up no later than the following Saturday.

Residents normally serviced by private waste haulers should check with those companies for holiday collection schedules.

The staffed recycling centers, along with the Waste Reduction Center and Haz Bin will be closed Wednesday, December 25 and Wednesday, January 1.

used Christmas tree

Seasonal Christmas tree drop-off will also include leaves this year. Starting December 26, drop-off sites will be available for all Louisville/Jefferson County residents at four locations. The Hubbards Lane site will also instantly recycle Christmas trees in to mulch that will be offered back to citizens for home use. Those wishing to receive mulch must bring an appropriate container in which to carry it.

All lights and ornaments should be removed from trees before they are set out or dropped off. Residents may also drop off loose leaves. Containers used to bring leaves to the drop-off sites must be disposed of off-site by residents.
