Brownsboro Road Update

During the month of December, special traffic signal timing patterns will be in place on Brownsboro Road (KY 22) in an effort to mitigate some of the holiday congestion near the various retail centers between Hurstbourne Parkway and Chamberlain Lane. These coordinated patterns are revised each year based on field reviews by Metro Public Works engineers and are developed using the extended/holiday shopping hours for retailers in the area.

LMPD Tips For The Holiday Shopping Season

Planning to do some shopping in the coming weeks? The LMPD 8th Division has some suggestions this holiday season regarding you, your vehicle, and your belongings:

  • Park in a well-lit area and as close to the entrance of the business as possible.
  • Do not hide a key in your car or under the hood.
  • Keep serial/model numbers to all portable electronics. If possible, etch a personal identification number on your items. These steps increase your chance of recovery by more than half should one of these items get stolen.
  • Do not leave your purse unattended in shopping carts. Always keep your purse zipped up or closed until you are ready to use it.
  • Ordering online? Use special delivery instructions to have your purchase delivered. Examples would be listing neighbors you trust should you not be home or requiring a signature from you or a family member for delivery.
  • If you must keep items in your vehicle, place them out of sight. The best places are the trunk, a glove compartment, or a center console.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings. If it doesn’t feel or look right, it probably isn’t.
