District 10 news

Happy Thanksgiving

Sending warm wishes from home to home and from heart to heart for a Happy Thanksgiving! May the day be a beautiful reminder of the wonderful things in life.

I consider myself fortunate for having a chance to serve you as Councilman. At this time of giving thanks, we remember and embrace those who enrich our lives, and I want to thank all of you who work in so many ways to make our community better.

After counting your blessings, you may want to volunteer to help others. Start by visiting this page

Thanksgiving holiday related changes

Metro offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29. Due to the holiday schedule, the District 10 enews will resume December 6.

There will be no residential garbage, recycling or yard waste collection within the Louisville Metro Urban Service District (former Louisville city limits) on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, and residents with normal service later in the week will have a one-day delay.

Staffed recycling centers, the Metro Waste Reduction Center and the Haz Bin hazardous waste facility will be closed Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29. Leaf drop-off will also not be available those days. All four services will resume on Saturday.

To view your collection schedule and stay informed about changes, download the Recycle Coach app or use the app on the Public Works website. Residents outside the Urban Service District who rely on private haulers for garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection should consult those haulers about their holiday collection schedule.
