Leaf Drop Off 2019 - November 5th Through November 30th

What to do with fall leaves

Mowing over leaves to mulch them back into your lawn is a great option for reducing waste and it adds nutrients back into your soil. Residents with yard waste collection can also set them out in paper bags or containers. And all Louisville Metro residents will have the option to dispose of them for free at one of three drop-off sites beginning November 5.

Metro Public Works is offering a free leaf drop-off service November 5 through November 30. Drop-off will not be available on November 28 and 29 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Only loose leaves will be accepted. Containers used to bring leaves to the drop-off sites must be disposed of off-site by residents.

First Hour Grief Response - Offers Services and Support to Residents of District 12

First Hour Grief

First Hour Grief Response was founded with the desire to provide hope and guidance on what to do when someone you love passes unexpectedly. It was born out of their founders' own experiences in facing the days, weeks and months that follow loss. There are so many decisions that have to be made, in a very short period of time, after a loved one passes. And day-after-day they had to find a way to put one foot in front of the other and figure out how to navigate this thing called grief.

First Hour is here to help guide you through important issues like making funeral arrangements, writing an obituary, contacting a place of worship to hold the service or life celebration, making arrangements to meet with a cemetery or crematorium, and the list goes on. It’s truly overwhelming what people have to go through just days after their friend or loved one has passed.

Please use their Contact Us form to ask for more information about grief counseling options or call (502) 791-9938.

Their mission is to provide free guidance and compassionate support during what may be the most difficult days of your life.
