Metro District 4 represents a great connected community hosting several neighborhoods, schools, businesses  and beautiful artwork. Scroll through these photos and meet some District 4 Leaders.

Congratulations to the Schnitzelburg Neighborhood Association for receiving 2019 “Neighborhood of the Year” award from the Center for Neighborhoods. Job well done!

A well known leader in the Paristown Pointe Neighborhood is Joann Robinson. She instills pride in the community by keeping the history of this area alive through stories, artwork, banners, decorative trash receptacles and more. Joann welcomed Blake-Anthony Johnson, Education Director for our Louisville Orchestra to the brand new performance venue - Old Forester Hall.

Another long time neighborhood leader is former Alderman Steve Magre who serves the Germantown Paristown Neighborhood Association. Steve works tirelessly on safety issues with LMPD and Louisville Fire & Rescue. He focuses on infrastructure and traffic patterns putting safety first.

You can see Jackie Floyd on any given day walking in District 4 talking with folks to find out what they want for their neighborhood.

Stop by Logan Street Market and meet Mike and Medora Safai. They started with a coffee roasting business in LaGrange and grew into a full service market with groceries, demonstration kitchen, beer, wine, bar, seafood, spices, cheese, and much more.

There’s a children’s play area, shopping, commercial bakery and a farmer’s market as well as treats for pets!

As president of the Shelby Park Neighborhood Association, Chip Rogalinski is a tireless leader determined to reduce crime, build housing, attract businesses and connect neighbors. He’s all smiles here at the new Logan Street Market bringing groceries back to Shelby Park.

Schnitzelburg Neighborhood Association President Ron Bolton stopped for a chat with State Representative Nima Kulkarni. Working together we build stronger neighborhoods and connect more people.

Butchertown is hopping under the leadership of neighborhood president Nick Johnson. Throughout the year he and others can be seen on Saturday mornings cleaning and picking up trash. They organize the annual Butchertown Art Fair and Porktoberfest. This is home for our LouCity football team and new stadium.

andy

Andy Blieden is known to many as “Mayor of Butchertown.” He’s the key executive of Butchertown Market and had been in the real estate business since he was first licensed in 1980. Andy finds buildings in great locations that are in gross disrepair and brings them back to their original splendor whilst helping businesses reach their highest potential. Featured here with co-owner of Butchertown Grocery Bakery.

The Central Business District is located in District 4 and serves as the economic engine for our Commonwealth of Kentucky. Amy and Steve Trager are shining examples of volunteer leadership and Steve continues to lead his family business as CEO of Republic Bank.

Many of our hospitals are located in the District 4 Medical Campus. Thousands of people count of our medical teams during time of crisis and preventive care. As President of Norton Healthcare, Russ Cox takes time to volunteer as a competitor in the annual “Man Enough to be a Girl Scout!”

8

Business and neighborhood leaders worked together with Metro Parks and raised the money to renovate the run down Story Avenue Park located in Metro District 9 right across the street from District 4. The neighborhood children were thrilled with the new playground and wide-open spaces.

9

It takes strong leadership and innovative visionaries to attract more than 16 million visitors each year! Meet Amanda Duffy president of National Women’s Soccer League and Karen Williams president of Louisville Tourism. Louisville is bringing back professional sports thanks to their leadership.

10

It takes strategic philanthropic leadership to make our city great. Many thanks to Cindy and Mark Lynn and their multigenerational family. Thanks to them we have two amazing soccer stadiums and much more. Thank you!

Everyone’s a leader if you choose to be. Coaches, fans and friends step up every day to do what needs to be done. District 4 is grateful for each of you!

NuLu is best known for its art galleries, specialty stores, antique shops and a growing number of local, upscale restaurants.

The term “NuLu” is a portmanteau meaning “New Louisville”. As home to the greenest commercial building in Kentucky, many historic restoration projects, as well as several restaurants offering organic and locally sourced ingredients, NuLu has emerged with a culture of sustainability. Come visit in the East Market Street area.
