IN THIS ISSUE...

Image of the Issue

Image of the Issue

The "Image of Issue" is of Beechmont resident and Louisville icon Andrew Johnson and his IT themed Jeep. He has been designing his themed Jeeps for the past 6 years. It all started when Andrew wanted to buy a Jeep but the only one available was a right sided steering, postal Jeep. It confused local drivers so he put a skeleton and fake steering wheel on the left side seat to make it look like the skeleton was driving. People loved it! Andrew receive worldwide interest and press.

He now owns two right sided steering Jeeps which he changes based on time of year and events. His next themes will be Nightmare Before Christmas and Zombieland. Past favorites have included Fortnight, Shark Week, and St. Patrick's Day. He designs them in his mind and then puts them together. He uses theatrical blood and permanent decals.

Andrew says it is beyond fun spreading joy to kids and adults in the community and worldwide. He said the IT Jeep scares adults more than it scares children. He attends birthday parties, community events, and benefits for sick children. He tries to keep the designs family friendly.

Andrew loves to brighten people's day with the Jeeps. He often pulls over so that people can take pictures with the Jeeps. He says the only bad days are when it rains because he has to reapply the theatrical blood to the Jeep and he has to keep the windows rolled up. Andrew loves designing and driving his creations. It is his way to spread happiness to people's day. It is very rewarding work and it is lots of fun.

Olmsted Parks Trail Survey

Are you the kind of park visitor who enjoys taking the path less traveled? Olmsted Parks Conservancy is in the middle of a trail study to learn how we can better control soil erosion and improve our natural trails in Cherokee, Iroquois and Seneca – making the escape into nature better for both the park and the visitor. We want to know, how do you use the natural trails? Whether you run, hike, bike, or walk your dog on the trails in our Olmsted Parks, you can help us with our study by filling out this 15 minute survey:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OlmstedParksTrails.
