Charmoli Neighborhood Place in Middletown will officially close later this month due primarily to the pension obligation and its impact on the city budget. Located in the East Government Center, Charmoli is one of eight Neighborhood Place locations in Jefferson County offering services from multiple agencies.
In August, the Department for Community Based Services relocated its staff from Charmoli. Those seeking information regarding SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), Child Care, Medicaid, and KTAP (Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program) should call 1-855-306-8959 or click here to find another DCBS location.
Early this month, JCPS will stop providing its truancy and school support services as well as its child abuse intervention and prevention programs at Charmoli. These services will still be offered at other Neighborhood Place locations (see the full listing here).
Dare to Care USDA commodity deliveries will continue until the end of October. After that, residents in need of food can contact Dare to Care directly at 966-3821 to find food assistance near them.
Metro's Resilience and Community Services will provide financial and housing assistance with case management services until October 29, the final closing date.
