Happy Labor Day!
Councilman Mulvihill wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable Labor Day holiday.
The Offices of the Louisville Metro Council and the Metro Council Clerk will be closed on Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day. The office will reopen on Tuesday, September 3.
No trash or recycling pickup Labor Day
Typically on holidays, trash and recycling pickup has been delayed by one day, but because of budget cuts, residents will have to wait until the following week for their trash and recycling to be picked up. The budget cuts were implemented on July 1, and the new policy takes effect on the Labor Day holiday.
People whose trash or recycling pickup day falls on the actual holiday will receive service the next week on the normal pickup day.
Residents who rely on private haulers for garbage, recycling and yard waste collection should consult those haulers about holiday collection schedules.
