Children from Bates Kingdom Academy's Summer Enrichment Program took a trip to Kentucky Kingdom to ride rides and see the view from the top of the Ferris Wheel. The fun continued as they visited Hurricane Bay to escape the heat.

Louisville Central Community Center's Youth Repertory and Tiny Tyke Theater Troupes put on a double feature of Annie Jr. and Grease at Actors Theatre of Louisville. The audience was blown away by the outstanding performances.

The Patriots of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Bluegrass Chapter 146 presented a Special Recognition Award to Councilwoman Sexton Smith as part of “National Purple Heart Day.”

She was recognized for the endless support her office extended to the Bluegrass Chapter as the Chapter 146 Patriots honored Saddler Sergeant Otto Voit, an American hero and Medal of Honor recipient from the Battle of Little Big Horn, interred in St. Stephen’s Cemetery Metro District 4.

MetroCall has switched to a new Metro311 reporting system for the general public. You can now report issues, track issues, view past issues, comment on issues, and more from one site. Please visithttp://iframe.publicstuff.com/.
To report a new issue, follow these steps:
- Visit http://iframe.publicstuff.com/
- For City, type in Louisville and select “Louisville Jefferson County Metro Government”
- Program developers suggest you now “sign up” for an account in top right corner. This will allow the system to track all requests. You can also choose not to sign up, which will let you make service requests anonymously.
- To report an issue, select the issue or type something into the search box. Then select issue.
- Next fill out the series of questions. You can enter an actual address or drag and drop the pin on the map to the location.Please be sure to check the address to ensure it’s a valid address.
- Include all details in the description and click submit.
Play around with the new system to become familiar with all the great features. You can now track other people’s service requests and the system will keep them in your account. Please let our office know if you have any issues.

Please be advised due to equipment issues Louisville Metro Solid Waste Management and Services has fallen behind on Yard Waste Collection.
As it stands, and until such time equipment is made available, they will be working an estimated 3-4 days behind schedule.
The SWMS Management Team is very much aware of this situation and is diligently working to get it all matters resolved in a timely fashion. Thank you for your understanding.

The Mayor presented his budget plan, the Community responded, and we rolled up our sleeves doing the work we were elected to do. No one got everything they wanted and not everything got funded. I voted for the budget because it maintained a focus on public safety by putting LMPD trained Officers on the street sooner than expected and we continued to fund affordable housing in addition to the $41 million provided during the past four years. We responded to the many concerns related to homelessness by providing $1 million for sheltering and services. This will help provide for pets, partners and possessions in homeless circumstances. Complex challenges require common sense solutions and it is our responsibility to provide safer neighborhoods and better services for all. This includes basic needs for food, clothing and shelter.
And yes, we fought for swimming pools and libraries to make sure no one gets left behind. Not our children, not our seniors, not anyone.
There’s room for everyone to help our community be as good as we say it is. We need businesses, healthcare, education, nonprofit and interfaith communities to reimagine their roles and create common sense solutions. Together – we hold the answer. We can do this, YES we can!
