June 7th was National Gun Violence Awareness Day. The Councilwoman joined community members in wearing orange to honor victims and survivors of gun violence.
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America gathered in Jefferson Square Park for the official announcement as we learned the historic City Hall Clock Tower, Big Four Bridge, and the 24 City Post kiosks would be lit orange.

The Filson Historical Society hosted an opening reception for the Enid Yandell exhibition. Susan McNeese Lynch mesmerized the huge crowd with her stunning performance portraying the life and legacy of this world-famous artist from Louisville born in 1869.
David Yandell Wood was all smiles as he represented the Yandell family and its many generations of significant contributions to our community and the world.
Jackie Rosky shows up everywhere and you just might see her playing her cello at Waterfront Wednesday.

Friends and family gathered for the unveiling of the historical marker to honor Muhammad Ali and Fred Stoner Sr. Fred Stoner Jr. was there to share his father's story and to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Fred Stoner Sr. added that special touch and taught young Cassius Clay how to dance in the boxing ring.

Book Rich Environments (BRE) Program
Through the National Book Foundation’s “Book Rich Environments” program, Louisville Metro Housing Authority (LMHA) will partner with the Louisville Free Public Library, Friends of the Library, and local literacy partners to distribute over 14,000 brand-new books to underserved children ages 0 to 18. If your organization is interested in distributing books to your clients, at an event, through a literacy program, or other means, please fill out the request form CLICK HERE on our LMHA website.
