Street sweeping season has resumed. Click here to receive alerts when street sweeping is headed to your area. Just enter your address in the MyLouisville box.
Street sweeping rules: Street cleaning signs are posted prior to 5 p.m. on the business day before sweeping occurs. The signs alert residents that there is No Parking between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on sweeping day. Vehicles parked in No Parking areas are subject to citation and/or towing. Residents should not park in affected areas until after 5 p.m. even if it appears an area has been swept, as sweepers may return before that time. The No Parking zone covers both sides of the street, though signs may only be posted on one side.

Green Heart Louisville is a first-of-its-kind scientific experiment that will test if increasing green space in a neighborhood will improve air quality and human health. They are studying how Louisville's tree canopy affects heart health and risk for developing diabetes and obesity. There researchers will investigate new ways to prevent heart disease, diabetes, and obesity and develop a scientifically backed "greenprint" for creating healthier cities. The location for the Green Heart Project was evaluated based on existing tree canopy, major roadways, population density, plantable space, and neighborhood characteristics. From that assessment, a three-square mile area of South Louisville encompassing six neighborhoods: Oakdale / Wyandotte, Wilder Park, Taylor-Berry, Beechmont and Hazelwood. Wyandotte Park received 100 new trees thanks to grant from the Nature Conservancy

In accordance to Chapter 97, sub-section 013 in the current Metro Code of Ordinances, homes that have an un-named, drive-through alley behind the property must post their addresses at the rear of the property as well as the front! This will assist LMPD, Fire & Rescue, EMS and others in finding the home easier and quicker! |
