TARC Introduces New Fare System

fb

TARC introduced a new fare system this week, making riding public transit in the region easier than ever.

Riders tap their MyTARC cards onto the fare box on board each bus. The proper fare will be deducted automatically, and the card balance will be displayed on a fare box screen.

Riders can also view transactions, ridership history and add value or purchase passes after registering their card at mytarc.ridetarc.org

More information about the new system is at TARC’s website: https://www.ridetarc.org/fares/mytarc-fare-structure-and-faqs/

NEW KY Licenses & Travel ID

asfdsfdasfdasfd

Kentucky is making significant improvements to increase the security of the identity credential you rely on most through the Confident Kentucky initiative. Following a statewide rollout starting in March 2019 and ending in May, all driver’s licenses, permits and personal IDs will have new security features, arrive in the mail 5-10 business days after residents apply at their local Circuit Court Clerk’s office, will be moving to an eight-year lifespan and have new pricing.

Once available in your county of residence, the next time you renew your current credential or if you are a first-time cardholder, you'll choose a credential in one of two new versions: standard or Voluntary Travel ID credential. Voluntary Travel ID versions have all the benefits of a standard credential plus they are federally accepted to board U.S. domestic flights and access restricted federal facilities once REAL ID enforcement begins nationwide on October 1, 2020.

Documentation is required when applying for a Voluntary Travel ID, if you are a first-time cardholder or if you want a standard credential and your personal information has changed. Be confident you'll arrive prepared when applying for a new credential by following the steps below or choosing from the menu of resources. https://drive.ky.gov/ConfidentKY/Pages/default.aspx. Jackson Stark Family Fund

On March 16, 2017 Jackson Stark was diagnosed with Stage 4 Leukemia.

He immediately started aggressive chemo and taking steroids, along with a lot more medications.

Jackson has been in and out of the hospital (mostly in) since late March 2017. He's had many complications...a low immune system, high fevers, no energy, infections and more.

Jackson's family has been be his side the entire time.

The Jackson Stark & Family fund is set up to help his family for whatever they need: Paying medical or regular life bills, food, a night out...whatever will help them get through this tough battle.

Clean Up Our Community - Throw Away Illegal Yard Signs in the Right-of-Way

sdafsfdasfdaasfd

We all see the signs cluttering our major road ways stating:

  • "We Buy Houses"
  • "Rent to Own"
  • "Express Cash"
  • "Junk Cars - Cash Paid"

These signs are regularly and illegally posted on telephone poles and in the right-of-way of businesses and busy intersections.

These signs clutter our streets and eventually fall down and litter our roadways, sewers and environment.

If you walk by these signs or live somewhere where these signs are posted, help clean up our community by taking them down and throwing them away.

Thank you!

New Dixie Construction

hbu

US 31W (Dixie Highway):

Lane closures and delays possible at Burnett Avenue (mile marker 18.3) due to installation of a micro-trench for conduit and fiber optic cables. Right lane will be closed daily from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.   This process will take several weeks to complete as crews progress north to West Broadway.

Lane closures and sidewalk closures in place between Blanton Lane and Crums Lane (mile markers 12.5 to 15.3) due to construction for access management and bus rapid transit lines. Roadway is reduced to two lanes northbound between Upper Hunters Trace and Heaton Road. Roadway is reduced to two lanes on southbound Dixie Highway between Blanton Lane and Upper Hunters Trace. Roadway is reduced to one lane southbound and two lanes northbound between Herbert Avenue and Crums Lane.

In these areas where the lane closures are in place, the sidewalks are closed on the side where the roadwork is taking place. Pedestrians need to cross Dixie Highway at a signalized intersection and use the sidewalk on the other side of the road instead of walking through the construction work.
