This Thanksgiving, help feed hungry families in our city

Most people in our district and our city are lucky enough to be able to provide for their families year round and enjoy a full meal each Thanksgiving Day. Truly, despite the simplicity of that statement, it is a luxury.

Many Louisville families are simply not that fortunate, either due to things they can control or things they cannot. Regardless of the reason, we should afford these families the dignity of a good meal when we can.

Whether through your church, civic organization, or by supporting the Boy Scout troops who collect canned goods each year, I hope you'll join me in giving sustenance to families in need this holiday season.

Report Illegal Dumpers

stopdumping

See Something Say Something!!!!

We all know that illegal dumping--putting waste on property that is not licensed as a disposal facility--is an eyesore that is expensive to clean up, diminishes quality of life, discourages economic development and even sends plastic debris into our waterways.

That's why people caught dumping along our city's alleys, sidewalks, fields and roadsides are subject to fines and impoundment of any vehicle used in the dumping. That's where citizens can help with the problem. If you witness illegal dumping while it's happening, report it.

We've developed a new online form you can use to tell us where it happened, describe the vehicle(s) involved, preferably with license plate number(s), and even upload pictures. Of course you can always call Metro Call 311 or 574-5000. For more information about illegal dumping, including a link to the reporting form, visit our illegal dumping webpage.

Street Sweeping Resumes in March 2019

For residents of the urban services district, Louisville city street sweeping will resume in 2019.

Sign up instead to get text or email alerts when the sweepers are coming. Just click on MyLouisville on the Louisvilleky.gov webpage, type in your address, and you're on your way. While you're there you can also find the date of your next junk collection and sign up to be reminded automatically.
