 Thank you to all the volunteers throughout the Southend that helped make our community a little cleaner this morning. I hope your activism will inspire others to think twice before littering and do more to help keep their neighborhood clean. A special thank you to Patricia McKinley-Greenwell for coming out for the first time to David’s clean up on Glen Hill Manor Drive.
   
 Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. That's dangerous and often tragic. That's why it was great to see thousands of folks from across the country clean out their medicine cabinets and turn in - safely and anonymously - a record amount of prescription drugs.

Louisville residents are invited to bring unneeded documents to be shredded and disposed of at a free event on November 3, 2018. Citizens can protect themselves from identify theft by bringing items to:
WHERE: Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center, 1030 Phillips Lane
WHEN: Saturday, November 3, 2018, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Businesses may not participate in this event. All paper materials will be shredded onsite and recycled. Shredding donated by Shred-It.
Louisville Metro residents not mulching autumn leaves into their lawns or using curbside collection will have the option to dispose of them at one of three drop-off sites beginning November 6.
Metro Public Works is offering a free leaf drop-off service November 6 through December 1.
Drop-off will not be available on November 22 and 23 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Only loose leaves will be accepted. Containers used to bring leaves to the drop-off sites must be disposed of off-site by residents.

US 31W (Dixie Highway): Lane closures and sidewalk closures in place between Greenwood Road and Crums Lane (mile markers 11.7 to 15.3) due to construction for access management and bus rapid transit lines. Roadway is reduced to two lanes on southbound Dixie Highway between Blanton Lane and Greenwood Road and on northbound Dixie Highway between Upper Hunters Trace and Heaton Road.
Beginning Saturday, Oct. 27 Dixie Highway will be reduced to one lane southbound and two lanes northbound between Herbert Avenue and Crums Lane.
