Thanks for coming out to another Back to School Block Party! Despite the weather forecast, the rain held off for the entire event! We had a great turnout with 340 kids and families. We were able to provide 77 door prizes to the youth in attendance. Click here to view photos from the event.

The Bourbon & Beyond music festival will be in Champions Park the weekend of September 22-23, 2018. More information on the festival is located online at https://bourbonandbeyond.com/.
Community General Information:
- Concert setup is underway and will continue until after the Louder Than Life concert September 28-30. There is significant construction activity as part of the setup.
- All park users should use the Zorn Avenue entrance to lessen cross-traffic challenges with event trucks.
- Champions Dog Park will remain open and accessible on all non-show days during normal park hours.
- While many areas of the park will be inaccessible, some park paths will remain open to the public on non-show days. It is very important that all dogs be on leash throughout the park at all times. (That’s the law in all parks, all the time, by the way).
The following streets will be closed during the following times:

51.405 COLLECTION IN URBAN SERVICES DISTRICT
(A) For the collection of household solid waste.
(1) The Department will collect household solid waste set out for collection from residential buildings having eight or fewer units. All household garbage must be set out in the cart provided by the Department. No plastic bags containing household waste are allowed to be set outside of the carts…
(2) All household garbage must be set out by 6:00 a.m. on the collection day set by the Department and may be set out no earlier than 4:00 p.m. on the day before collection.
(3) All carts must be removed from the street or alley no later than 4:00 p.m. the day after collection.

The deadline for registering to vote in Kentucky before the 2018 General Election is rapidly approaching and it’s easier than ever to do so.
Tuesday, October 9 is the last day to register to vote in the November 6 election. Kentuckians can now register to vote, and check and update their registrations online, at this website.
Voters who will be outside Jefferson County on Election Day are among those who can vote absentee. More information about voting absentee, both by mail and in-house, is here.
If you qualify to vote by absentee ballot, you can do that at the Jefferson County Clerk’s Election Center, which has moved to 701 West Ormsby Avenue, Suite 301, beginning September 24. Here’s the schedule:
