District 10 paving scheduled

The District 10 streets below are scheduled to be paved by Louisville Metro Public Works over the next week, but the schedule is subject to change due to weather and operational factors.

  • Sylvan Court end to end
  • Sylvan Way from Schuff Lane to Newburg Rd
  • Sylvan Wynde from Sylvan Way to dead end
  • Schuff Lane from Newburg Road to dead end


MUSCL Senior Wellness Center to celebrate 11 years August 29 - volunteers needed

11 years celebration

The MUSCL Senior Wellness Center is celebrating 11 years of service August 29.


Renamed in 2015 to honor the late District 10 Councilman and Metro Council President Jim King, the center is open to anyone 55 or over and is free of charge. 


Everyone at the center would like to have a potluck dinner to celebrate, but need volunteers to help. Donations are also appreciated. Please contact Karen or Rachael at 634-3221. 


The MUSCL (Ministries United of South Central Louisville) center is at 1020 E. Burnett Street.

August 4 - Shred Day with SEAM at John Paul II

Shred Day is this Saturday, August 4 at John Paul II, Hikes Lane Campus, from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring your clean paper documents to shred for no charge and please bring your monetary, food, or personal care item donations with you.

Here is a list of the much needed items that teachers often purchase out of their own pockets for their students/classrooms:

  • Ticonderoga Pencils
  • Soft Tissues
  • Dry Erase Markers
  • Zip Lock Baggies (gallon and quart size)
  • All kinds of tape (packing, duct, scotch)
  • White Out
  • Different colors of pens for grading
  • Hand Sanitizer/Wipes
  • Index Cards
  • Washable Markers & Crayons

School and classroom supplies can be dropped off at any time Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and noon at SEAM, 6500 Six Mile Lane, (behind the Guiding Light Islamic Center).
