April 25th: Denim Day

Each year Office For Women supports Denim Day, the local awareness project led by the Center for Women & Families.
Please join us - Take a stand for victims of sexual assault & join the effort to raise awareness. Participation is easy!

The Denim Day Mission:
Education - There is no excuse for rape.
Awareness - The prevalence of rape.
Empowerment - Step forward, take a stand against rape.
Herstory: The Italian High Court overturning a rape conviction because the victim wore “tight” jeans. This became known as the “denim defense.''
When the decision was announced, women of the Italian legislature protested by wearing jeans to the afternoon legislative session. It has evolved into a global observance and day of protest.
